Geomatics Tools The Centre works in a networked Windows and Unix environment. Software resources available for use include the EASI/PACE image analysis system (also called Geomatica), ArcInfo, ArcGIS, ArcView, SPANS, SDM Geo, OziExplorer and Adobe Publishing Collection. The Centre has its own NOAA AVHRR receiving station that is used to acquire images of most of Canada. About ten images are received each day. Recent images and thumbnails of all images are kept online, the full images, from 1996 to present are archived on tape. Peripheral equipment available includes a digitizing table, large and small format colour printers, a slide scanner, a laminator and various tape drives.
